The event commenced with a Welcome to Country by Aunty Hazel Vale, followed by a Smoking Ceremony. Participants then walked across the bridge before hearing from Fiona Lovelock and enjoying a performance by the Armidale Secondary College Lyāmbay Aboriginal Dance Group.

While the weather provided a few challenges – we were blessed with rain and a spot of hail – the Bridge Walk was a wonderful community event. Homes North’s sausage sandwiches proving very popular, alongside the delicious curries provided by headspace Armidale. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the day such a success.
